Service. Local. Results.
This week we were out listening, learning, and pushing smart policy that actually works for Hays County.
Public Safety tech: Spoke at Commissioners Court urging tools with rules—short data retention, no data resale, warrant/case-number access, independent audits. Safer streets and civil liberties.
Parks & Conservation (Dripping Springs): Backed xeriscape, trail upkeep, habitat buffers, and fair fees so families get well-maintained parks without surprise costs.
Historic Preservation (Buda): Supported predictable design standards that protect character while keeping small-business renovations practical.
Smart Growth Data Center (San Marcos area): Working on pioneering and handing off a guardrails plan: closed-loop cooling + hard water cap with monthly public reporting, dark-sky & noise limits, developer-funded road fixes before opening, and a Community Benefits Agreement for parks, preservation, and local hiring with Texas State/ACC. Began outreach to business leaders and city staff for either a balanced public forum or workshop.
Community outreach: Met with local leaders, veterans, and small-biz owners about roads, water reliability, and school needs (special ed staffing and class size).
Campaign ops: Building a public events calendar + volunteer sign-up on HeftforTexas.com; prepping concise handouts for neighborhood meetings.
If you care about fixing roads, funding classrooms, and respecting your dollar, jump in with us.
Volunteer through our sign up forms or attend an event on our events calendar.
Fix the roads. Fund the classrooms. Respect your dollar.
